Hurricane House

This was our first time to Anna Maria Island and I couldn't be happier that we chose to stay at the Hurricane House! The house itself has been fully renovated and updated. The decor, the colors, the comforts and conveniences are all top notch. If I could give it ten stars I would. The location of the house was also perfect. You can't pick a better location on the island. We could walk to everything - the beach, the Sandbar, all of the shops & dining on Pine, Ginny & Janes, literally everything! For being close to everything, it was also so peaceful and quiet. If you are looking for a place to stay, I can say with 100 percent certainty this is the place! Also, the beds were super comfortable :-)

Perfect location as it was near the beach and some of our favorite shops and restaurants. The house was great for a few people and the kitchen was spacious. The backyard was nice in the evenings and we even could hear live music from Harry’s. One bathroom doesn’t have any counter space which is odd as it was just remolded but we made it work.

No hassles at all. Check in seamless. Property sparkling clean from kitchen to bathrooms to outside. Restaurants within walking distance as is beach which is also pristine. This was second visit since May and will be back.

Perfect AMI listing, literally a block away from the beach with lot of good food options in walking distance. House itself has an old town beach home vibe with nice pool and backyard area. Was hard to coax my 5 year old out of the pool 😁. Would 100% recommend.

The house is beautiful with a nice pool and outdoor seating. The location was wonderful, with only a one block walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants nearby. The hosts were were very responsive when we contacted them for a few small things. I would absolutely stay here again!

Home is beautiful. Check in and out was easiest we ever had. Pool was delightful. AC was great. Tons of TV channels but we really didn’t watch it. You must bring or rent your own beach chairs. There are many good restaurants within walking distance and you must try Mademoiselle for authentic French pastries and dinner.

We loved our stay at this lovely home. The on-site heated pool and screened-in patio with grill were perfect for our needs. The house was just a quick walk to white sand beaches. We would definitely return again! Only small bits of feedback are that it would have been lovely to have some salt and pepper on hand for cooking, one laundry basket for transferring loads, and a small cooler for the beach. But these were all easy fixes. Thank you!

Perfect little paradise! Hurricane House is a wonderful option on Anna Maria Island. We loved our time there. It is perfectly located within walking distance of the restaurants, shops and bars, but better…the crystal blue Gulf of Mexico. There was nothing better than wandering a block to beach and back to the pool again, just to wander down Pine st for Lunch and then back to the beach. The house is great! So fun and colorful. The layout was great for 5 adult women to share. Lots of room and sitting areas to enjoy. The outside space was the best! We were out there most of the time. There were some cobwebs on the lights, left over snack foods on the out door patio, some dirt on the floors, overall it could of been cleaned a bit better, but it was ok. The alarm at the doors is a bit rough. I totally appreciate the point, but a beep would be more appreciated over a heart attack inducing scream. Otherwise, this house and rental company are great and you will have a great time! Thank you!

House was great and so close to the beach. This is definitely more vacation rental than VRBO style. Everything is cleaned out so you will need coffee filters and any thing needed for cooking like oil, spices etc. They have all the pots, pans utensils. The pool was awesome (the alarms are a little annoying until you figure them out and are a good safety precaution). Would definitely book again.

Great stay, stayed in this area a few times now with different companies and in condos and houses and the island from Longboat to Anna Maria is great during this time of year, not as hot as in J,J and August, the house is quaint, quiet but close to beach, I loved the old fashion and eclectic look and it is one story which is nice that some may overlook as many are up on pilings which is understandable but first floor for me is wonderful, this house had a great pool and patio and could easily host a few couples with separate areas. It was an amazing getaway. A true vacation. We rented a golf cart from Lazy Turtle, which is a walk around the block. We ate at the Sandbar, Harry's, and Waterhouse---all within a walk. And they were wonderful. We walked to breakfast at Mademoiselle's 3 different mornings--coffee and croissants. They were delicious. Go to the Sandbar for brunch. Ask for a table in the sand. We did twice. Had drinks and lunch, then walked over to a spot on the beach. Plus, the Sandbar has an outdoor access to order fruity drinks, like Daiquiris. Ironically, even though it's posted to not have alcohol on the beach, those from the Sandbar were, obviously, allowed. The house is lovely. It's comfortable and stocked well. The pool is heated. The landscaping is beautiful. Plenty of seating. Beach towels were provided. There is an outdoor bedroom that doesn't have a shower, but we used the outdoor shower, which was absolutely fine. We were on vacation. There is a twin pullout in the Master bedroom and the couch (in a private room beside the living room) pulls outs as well. We used both. I would take sheets for the single. We used blankets, that we carried, but I will take sheets next time. I hope to be back. Soon.

I loved this place. Great house, great location, great place to be! I will def be back. Only hiccup at all was non-working cable in living room (which they tried, but failed, to fix), and an alarm in the pool house that had no silence button on the outside like all the other doors. Not an issue for us as we didn't use that room. Would be really annoying if we had to use that room. Still loved the place and will stay here again and again!!

This vacation rental was so close to restaurants and shops! Super close to the beach which was great. We loved this home and it was too cute! I have 3 year old twins so the back door safety feature was very nice. We definitely plan on making our way back to this adorable home!

We’ve been vacationing on AMI for 25yrs and this was the most special year of all. Our youngest graduated from Eckerd College, our oldest brought his wife and new baby to this magical spot for the first time, and we all celebrated a surprise wedding proposal on the beach. The house gave everyone enough space to spread out & relax. It’s close to restaurants, shopping and steps away from a great beach. We couldn’t have asked for more! Thank you, Hurricane House.

This place was everything we had hoped for. It was so close to the ocean and restaurants. I loved being able to walk to places or just go right to the ocean. The only thing that I would say was not good was the little pool house/ room had mold in it and had a smell due to it. Other then that it was perfect

This was my husband and I's first vacation on our own in a long time, and we were looking for the perfect spot within walking distance of the beach and restaurants that would also accommodate our dogs. We loved the "hacienda" feel of the home, having our own pool, a fenced back yard, great bike riding and only a block to the beach. We are already looking forward staying at the Hurricane House again next year and hope to make it an annual getaway.

THe Hurricane house has everything you will need when renting. It is well decorated and well maintained. It is a great location to get to the beach, restaurants, and shops without having to get into a car. Also, the Anna Maria accomodations - managing company, are the best to make sure your stay is perfect. We will be back again.

My husband and I have made 5 trips to AMI in the past 4 years. Hurrican House is the best house we have stayed in so far. We loved everything about it! It looks just like it does in the pictures. The walk to the beach was very short and easy to carry your beach stuff. I do recommend you bring you own beach supplies(chair, umbrella, floats) yourself because the ones here are a little used. The pool was a nice amenity to have. The house is well stocked with games for evening entertainment. The kitchen has top notch cookware and serving set. We went with another couple and had plenty of room to seperate when we wanted alone time. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to return next year!
